Folk on the Quay

Folk on the Quay takes place on 24th June 2017

Folk on the Quay is a free folk festival which takes place on Poole’s quayside on 24th June 2017 and features colourful displays of dance accompanied by live music from acoustic acts to lively bands.

Featuring five stages this free event will take over Poole Quay with renowned folk acts, workshops and children’s entertainment.

The Thistle Stage will be located opposite the Thistle Hotel and is the biggest stage. The road will be closed off so that people can enjoy the outdoor standing concerts and ceilidh dances in the late afternoon.

However for those who fancy a stroll the Land Lubbers Stage is along the walkway on The Quay, opposite the Poole Arms and The Portsmouth Hoy and hosts great music throughout both Saturday and Sunday.

The Fish Shambles Stage is a covered stage outside The Lord Nelson and Jolly Sailor pubs featuring a varied programme of bands and dance performances.

The Thistle Garden Stage is a little stage opposite the Thistle Main Stage and the programme will alternate from one stage to the other. This means there will be constant music at the Thistle end of the quay.

Finally the Custom House will have their own stage on their patio. Customs House works closely with Folk on the Quay in order to book top quality folk bands for the folk festival weekend.
