New summer menu at WestBeach

WestBeach on Pier Approach has launched a new menu for summer. Focussing on fabulous fish, as always, the menu celebrates sustainable seafood with some really imaginative dishes.

It will be complemented by an ever-changing specials board, of course, utilising the freshest seasonal ingredients and catch of the day. This week, hake fillet with paella and shell-on prawns is bound to satisfy the most adventurous diners.

The main menu features everything from the traditional – beer-battered fish with handcut chips, mushy peas and homemade tartar sauce – to the unusual – polenta soft shell crab, with Asian slaw, Vietnamese dressing and candied peanuts. Meat eaters can dine on succulent Dorset beef or succulent pork cheeks.

There is also a lunch menu for those just looking for a quick bite, such as fish pie or a cheeky fish finger sandwich. The crab comes from Christchuch and the lobster from Poole Bay – you can eat your way around the county!

The drinks menu also includes locally sourced specials – Dorset’s own Furleigh Estate wine and Conker Spirit gin come highly recommended! Furleigh Estate‘s Sea Pink rosé is particularly tasty and ideal for toasting the sunset at the end of another summer’s day on the beach.

The restaurant is also celebrating being named as the fourth best seafood restaurant in the country by The Times newspaper. The restaurant also receives rave reviews on TripAdvisor. One diner recently wrote: “This is a fantastic restaurant with great quality and selection of dishes. I recommend a visit. Food is excellent, with fish dishes particularly good. If there is a better place for lunch in Bournemouth I would be surprised. You will not be disappointed!”
