New Tourist Information Centre opens on Bournemouth Seafront

From 24th June visitors to Bournemouth will receive a world-class welcome, with a brand new Tourist Information Centre now open at Pier Approach.

The new Tourist Information Centre was designed and built as part of a £4million redevelopment of the Pier Approach area, creating a contemporary gateway to the seafront and boasting interactive water fountains, innovative lighting and a stunning new shelter.

The new kiosk-style building will be open seven days a week, with staff on hand to provide information on places to visit, walks, activities, entertainment and events both in Bournemouth and around Dorset. It replaces the former Tourist Information Centre on Westover Road.

Councillor Lawrence Williams, Portfolio Holder for Tourism, said: “The new Tourist Information Centre is a key contribution to the transformation of Pier Approach area and is a visible, physical reminder of our commitment to making Bournemouth a world-class destination. It’s a very exciting development!”

Mark Smith, Director of Tourism, said: “We’re very proud of Bournemouth’s tourism offer – our staff members are extremely knowledgeable and they help hundreds of visitors every day, working hard to ensure that they have a first-class experience during their stay. The new Tourist Information Centre is a great hub for this activity in a prime location and I encourage everyone visiting Bournemouth and Dorset to take advantage of the services on offer.”
