Dorset Tourism Awards and Saffery Champness accountants call for ‘Unsung Hero for customer service’ nominations.

The annual Dorset Tourism Awards team and headline sponsor, Saffery Champness, are calling for nominations from businesses and the general public for the Unsung Hero for Customer Service Award category. The popular awards, which are now in their 5th year, have also extended nominations for the category until Friday 26th August.

Saffery Champness Partner, Nick Fernyhough, advised, “ The Unsung Hero for Customer Service Award recognises individuals from the tourist industry who continually go above and beyond, offering exceptional customer service to visitors and locals. Individuals can be nominated by another member of staff, a member of the public, or by themselves. They may be volunteers or paid members of staff.”

Nick continued, “Everyone must know someone that they feel deserves the recognition and accolade of being nominated. It’s a great way to show your appreciation to that member of staff that helps to make your Dorset visitor experience that extra bit special.”

Dorset Tourism Awards event organisers, Robin Barker and Nell Barrington enthused, “The Unsung Hero award is a great way to celebrate individuals who go the extra mile and deliver outstanding customer service to the public. We would urge people to visit our web site which details how to nominate www.dorsettourismawards.org.uk “

Robin concluded, “We have been delighted at the level of interest shown in the Dorset Tourism Awards since we launched in April. Web site visitor traffic has been exceptionally high and we have received many first time entries from businesses. This year we introduced two new categories – ‘Glamping’ and ‘Dog Friendly’ to reflect changing trends and they have attracted much interest and lots of entries have been received.”

Nominations for all other categories close on 20th June but the ‘Tourism Event and Festival’ category has also had its entry deadline extended to Friday 26th August in order to allow summer events taking place the opportunity to be included.
