Bournemouth Air Festival 2023 – What’s On Day Two – Friday

It’s day two of the 2023 Bournemouth Air Festival and after the disappointment of yesterday, when all displays were cancelled due to bad weather (apart from about 5 minutes of the Red Arrows who tried their best!), it is hoping that today will be more successful!

There is an incredible line up of entertainment planned with flying due to start at 1.25pm however please note that aircraft are subject to availability and weather conditions and flying times may be subject to change at any time.

For an up to date flying timetable please purchase a souvenir programme which will allow you access to the online timetable which is updated throughout the event.

You can also download the Bournemouth Air Festival app for free on iOS and Android, and if you’ve purchased a programme you can access the up dated timetable via the app using your unique code.

Fingers crossed for some better weather today!

What else is on?

The festival site is open from 10.00am with plenty to see and do on the beach between the Bournemouth and Boscombe piers, up on the East Overcliff and down in the Lower Gardens. The Royal Navy village, located on the beach, has interactive attractions and demonstrations, plus you can meet serving and former personnel and learn more about the navy and its charities. In the Army village, also on the beach, you can get up close to army equipment like the Challenger 2 Main Battle Tank, and meet soldiers who can tell you more about life in the army. Up on the East Overcliff you’ll find the popular RAF Village where you can meet the support teams for the Typhoon, Red Arrows, Battle of Britain Memorial Flight and the Chinook, plus get information about a career in the RAF.

The Commando Recruiting Team will be giving Unarmed Combat Demonstrations in the Lower Gardens at 6.20pm followed by The Beat Retreat Sunset Ceremony at 6.45pm.

And the family favourite film The Greatest Showman (PG) will be shown on the big screen, also in the Lower Gardens, at 7.45pm.
