As the Easter holidays continue, the Leave Only Footprints team will be holding a family fun day filled with beach games and environmental education on Bournemouth Beach Wednesday 17 April.
With the promise of warmer weather on the horizon, the Leave Only Footprints campaign will be launching on Bournemouth Beach on Wednesday 17th April from 11am – 3pm. Expect a fun filled family day with free beach games including frisbee, wild play and heaps of environmental education!
The Leave Only Footprints team will also be there on hand to answer any questions and to share information on local and coastal litter efforts.
For those wanting to do their bit for the environment, from 1.30pm – 3pm the team will be hosting a beach clean.
The unusually warm weather in 2018 saw thousands flock to Bournemouth’s sandy beaches to soak up the sunshine. For the past year, under the banner, Leave Only Footprints, beach-goers have been invited to enjoy the UK’s best beaches* and to help keep them fabulous by clearing up at the end of the day, putting rubbish in the bins provided.
Emily Fergusson, Leave Only Footprints Engagement Coordinator said: “With the fantastic efforts from the seafront and Leave Only Footprints teams, 2018 saw a considerable uplift in community beach cleans, litter picks and education sessions across both resorts, proving that the community is truly behind the campaign.”
There will be lots of Leave Only Footprints activity throughout the summer across the resorts. For more information, please visit www.bournemouth.co.uk/leaveonlyfootprints.
