Buses

Bournemouth and Poole have a great bus service with local regular routes and buses that take you that little further such as Swanage, Christchurch, Wareham, the Purbecks, Salisbury and the New Forest.

Bournemouth bus station and Poole bus station are both conveniently located and there are many stops along the way, meaning you won’t have to walk far to find a bus stop!

Don’t worrying about where to park the car, take the bus!

The More Bus Company

A quality bus service in and around Bournemouth & Poole, Purbeck, Salisbury and the New Forest. They also operate a Cross County network which links major towns and cities across the area.

With a fleet of around 300 vehicles, some with a permanent or convertible open top design allowing you to appreciate the scenic nature of some of the routes, More Bus from Wilts & Dorset are there to get you out, about and around Dorset quickly and in comfort.

Their buses serving Bournemouth and Poole are normally run by low easy access buses with increased leg room and full air-conditioning.

The popular M1 and M2 routes run from Poole to Bournemouth and onto Castlepoint and Southbourne respectfully and run every 3-5 minutes Monday to Saturday.

On Friday and Saturday they run their “night buses” with a service running all night between Poole, Bournemouth and Charminster/Southbourne, perfect for you night-time party animals!

Click here for more details on their day and night tickets.

Other popular routes they serve include Wimborne, Ferndown and Christchurch with routes further afield to Verwood, Salisbury, New Milton, Lymington, Blandford, Lytchett Matravers, Dorchester and Swanage.

In fact the popular routes to the Isle of Purbeck and Swanage are served by double decker buses, three of which are permanently open top with a small enclosed area at the front for route 50, the popular Bournemouth to Swanage route which goes via the Sandbanks Ferry. There are also 6 other buses with a removable top meaning they can be used as open top during the busy summer season when the sun will hopefully be out in full force! These buses are known as “Purbeck Breezer” and are a distinctive blue and green colour scheme and are a great way to sit back, relax and enjoy the beautiful views.

Make sure to check out the More bus timetable before you leave to plan your route and to ensure you don’t miss your bus!
