Council Scheme to Help Retreat for Cancer Patients Raise Funds

The Grove Hotel, owned and operated by Macmillan Caring Locally, have signed up to the BH Coastal Lottery, with the hope of raising funds to improve facilities for guests.

The Grove Hotel, a specialist not-for-profit hotel for cancer patients and those with life threatening illnesses, is the latest community project to join Bournemouth Borough Council’s BH Coastal Lottery.

Introduced by Bournemouth Borough Council earlier this year, the BH Coastal Lottery aims to raise money for local community projects. 60% of all ticket sales are invested back into local causes in Bournemouth. With each £1 ticket, entrants can pick a cause of their choice which gets 50p, the remaining 10p is then distributed to other good causes locally.

Since its launch, the BH Coastal Lottery has seen a large number of causes start their own lottery fund, including The Grove Hotel. Owned and operated by Macmillan Caring Locally, the Grove Hotel is a unique hotel which caters especially for cancer patients to enjoy a holiday in a safe environment. The Grove currently offers a range of entertainment facilities, therapy exercises and free coach trips, with all of the rooms equipped to handle guest’s requirements. Funds raised from the lottery will be used to further improve the hotel’s facilities for future guests.

Brenden Howard, General Manager of The Grove Hotel, said:

“We are glad to have the opportunity to be part of the BH Coastal Lottery. With the funds that we hope to raise through the lottery, The Grove Hotel we hope to further enhance the outstanding quality of care we offer our guests. Buying a ticket for the BH Coastal Lottery supports great causes in Bournemouth, benefiting the whole of Bournemouth and it’s residents.”

Each lottery ticket consists of 6 numbers between 0 and 9. The lottery draw occurs every Saturday, where a 6-digit winning combination is announced, with a jackpot prize of £25,000.
