Dancing Terraces Returns!

A FREE Weekly Dance Event By the Sea in Bournemouth, Open for All to Have Fun and Express Themselves Through Dance!


On The Garden Terrace at Pavilion Dance South West

This summer the outdoor Dancing Terraces will be back with a full line-up of dance styles and music every Friday and Saturday in August including Wheelchair Dance, Latin Fusion, Vintage Jazz, Bollywood, Hip Hop, Street Dance and African with live drumming.

As the sun shines (and even when it doesn’t!) they’ve got lots happening inside and outdoors for all the family to enjoy movement, dance & music this summer. Designed for people of all ages, with no experience required, Pavilion Dance South West encourages people from ALL backgrounds to come together and join the our celebration of dance. These events are free to join, so drop by and join them on their beautiful Garden Terrace!

They will have many special guests with them during every event, including the dancers from SHAKE Dance joining for the street dance session, accompanied by a live DJ. Along with Aida and Cheikh Diop joining for dance and drumming at the African session. And a special performance from Murphy’s Lore during the Ceilidh Dance session.

Plus they are also delighted to welcome back Liberate for a second year for the Wheelchair Dance on Saturday 19th August. Liberate is a wheelchair dance company that believe dance is for everyone and are striving to make this a reality. They teach several genres of dance, including contemporary and Hip-Hop.

Pavilion Dance transforms communities through dance. They offer dance experiences that are relevant, diverse, inclusive, and captivating. The seaside creative hub in Bournemouth is home to their dancing community. Through theatre and outdoor performances, weekly dance classes, in-school workshops, social dance events, screenings, and many other activities, welcoming people of all backgrounds to experience the embodied joy of dancing. 

As a registered charity (1111641) they are dedicated to transforming local communities through dance. Based in Bournemouth, the historic seafront building has two dance studios for classes and rehearsals and a 197-seat theatre for live and recorded shows.
