Dogs on the Beach

The beaches of Bournemouth and Poole like to welcome your canine friend but please be aware that there are regulations in place.

Dogs can enjoy the beach freely throughout the winter season which is from 1st October to 30th April. However between 1st May and 30th September dogs are only permitted on certain parts of the beach. Please also ensure that your dog is on a lead whilst using the promenade.

Please ensure that you keep your dog under control and carry a lead with you at all times. And of course, please keep our beaches beautiful by cleaning up any dog mess. Bins are provided and the beach offices can usually provide doggy bags if you have forgotton one. Checks are undertaken and you could get fined if you fail to clean up after your dog or you allow your dog to cause a nuisance to others.

Finally please remember that the heat can cause serious problems for dogs that may be left in cars along the seafront, so please don’t do it.
