The Dolphin Shopping Centre in Poole is supporting One Great Day on Saturday June 15 for both Great Ormond Street Hospital and Diverse Abilities.
The Dolphin is one of 200 shopping centres across the country taking part in the UK-wide annual charity fundraising day, raising money and support for Great Ormond Street Hospital. Participating shopping centres agree to provide a special event for local communities whilst fundraising for the charity.

Activities at the Dolphin take place from 11am – 3pm and all proceeds will be split evenly between Great Ormond Street Hospital and Diverse Abilities.
Shoppers in Poole will be challenged to test their strength similar to a traditional fairground game – both adults and children can take part, swing the mallet and strike the pin. Each player will have the opportunity to try three times and if they hit the top score (100) three times in a row, they win a prize from one of the Dolphin’s retailers.
The shopping centre will be setting up a leader board so scores can be monitored and there will be prizes allocated for the highest numbers achieved on the day. Shoppers will need to make a donation in order to play the game.
John Grinnell, centre manager at the Dolphin Shopping Centre, commented: “We challenge everyone in Poole to come and test their strength – and the best strikers will win a prize. Our team promise you a fun-filled family day, whilst raising money for charities.
“Our support of this campaign has been encouraged by Legal & General, owners of the centre, who is supporting One Great Day portfolio-wide, as part of its focus on social values.”
Diverse Abilities, Dorset’s disability charity which supports children and adults with profound physical and learning disabilities, is the Dolphin Shopping Centre’s nominated ‘Charity of the Year’ for 2019.
