Diverse Abilities, Dorset’s disability charity supporting children and adults with profound physical and learning disabilities across the county, will have a stand in the Eco Hub on Monday April 15 to raise further awareness for the charity. There will be craft activities for children from 10am-3pm, with a suggested donation of £1 for two activities per child. All proceeds will go towards Diverse Abilities.
John Grinnell, centre manager at the Dolphin Shopping Centre, commented: “We’re pleased to welcome back Diverse Abilities to the centre to help raise awareness of the fantastic work the charity does locally. We chose them as our nominated charity for 2019 because of the synergy with our continued focus on making the centre as autism-friendly and wheelchair-friendly as possible.”

The Dolphin is pleased to welcome an innovative new play festival, ‘Let’s Play’
by Arts2Educate, to its Eco Hub. All families are welcome to explore, be
creative and feel inspired from 11am-4pm each day. Entry is free for children
aged 4 to eleven years, with an aim of encouraging children to create in a free
play environment. The project is funded by Arts Council England, Poole BID and
Wave Arts Education Agency.
Abigail Thommes, founder of Arts2Educate, commented: “I was inspired to create a project for children and adults to be inspired and excited by the arts through play, after visiting Calais to help with the refugee crisis. I truly believe in the importance of offering young people opportunities to enjoy the arts in a free and playful environment.”
The Eco Hub launched last year as part of the Dolphin’s ongoing commitment to sustainability. It is open during the centre’s regular opening hours and is free to use. The Eco Hub can be found in the lower mall of the centre, near to the escalators by Starbucks.
