Pavilion Dance has seen an array of dance theatre and talent in our venue by the sea in Bournemouth and looks forward to welcoming a host of international, national and local dance talent to our venue in the coming months.
South West Youth Dance Talent shines
March saw a whole host of youth talent on our stage here at Pavilion Dance with Making Moves by Sadlers Wells, U.Dance South West Regional Platform and Origins youth platform all showcasing the best of the South West region. A huge well done to all the amazing dancers, teachers and choreographers that have created stunning pieces and performances.
Celebrating Parkinson’s and all our dance communities
This April we’ve celebrated our wonderful Parkinson’s Dance community for World Parkinson’s Day – now in it’s 13th year we host our Fun Fridays with 90 mins of movement, fun and dance in our Seafront studio for those living with Parkinson’s. Look out for our fundraising team running for Parkinson’s Dance later this year to help keep this community moving.
Sell Out Revue – audience & participants!
We also celebrated our biggest Spring Revue showcase yet with the most participants taking part across 14 of our weekly dance classes. All abilities, styles and moves were showcased to a sold out theatre audience – some performing for the very first time on a stage and others for the 10th year running! We love our weekly dance communities and to see them showcase their new skills, routines and costumes is an absolute joy. From Contemporary to Belly Dance, Afro Fusion, Burlesque, Commercial and Musicals – it’s a colourful and diverse celebration of our adult and youth classes. We hold two Revues every year in Autumn and Spring terms to celebrate our class community and this year has welcomed more than 130 participants. See our full range of classes that will be running from April to July 2025.
Some class participants shared their joy of dance: “Burlesque dancing gives me the freedom to express myself through dance and the most empowering and supportive group of people. Ruby always brings out the best in us.”
“The dance community has been an oasis in hard times. Everyone is super welcoming and supportive, and we all help each other grow and learn. Here I’m free to be my authentic self and I’m learning new skills without any fear of being judged and embarrassed.”
