The Ultimate Jurassic Experience!
This year City Cruises Poole are working with the Dinosaur Museum in Dorchester to give you the ultimate Jurassic experience. To begin this tour you will hop on board their Jurassic Cruise at 10.30am for a 2 hour and 15 minute cruise around the Jurassic Coast and spot some of the most famous rock formations in the world. You will also be filled with historical facts the whole way with their in depth commentary. Once you have finished your tour of the coastline it is then your choice of transport to the Dinosaur Museum to complete your day trip. Here you can discover the rich dinosaur heritage of the Jurassic Coast physically by seeing and touching real fossil displays including dinosaur heads, teeth, eggs and even poo!
Dorchester is approx. 40mins by car or 20-30min by train. There are regular trains running from Poole station to Dorchester West which is only a 10 minute walk away from the Museum. You can book this trip any day you like, as the Museum is open 7 days a week from 10am – 5pm.

Bird Watching Cruise – Sailing every Friday in May and June
Hop on board for a 4 hour evening cruise from Poole or 2 hours from Swanage to soak up the Jurassic Coastline and spot some regular and rare wildlife. With Durlston Country Park Ranger’s on board providing you with a running commentary, you are bound to learn something new.
NEW! – Shipwreck Cruise – Every Wednesday in June and July
For the first time this year City Cruises Poole are partnering up with Poole Museum to give you an afternoon full of historic shipwrecks that have happened here in Poole Bay over the years. Starting at 3pm you will be met by a Maritime Archaeologist who will take you around Poole Museum to see some of the wreckages up close. This will then be followed by a boat trip around Poole Harbour and Old Harry Rocks to show you exactly where these shipwrecks are, there will also be a presentation on board.
NEW! – Wareham River Cruise – Friday 12th June, 12th July and 10th August
Join City Cruises Poole on board for an evening cruise to Wareham. Admire the outstanding natural beauty surrounding the river Frome and Piddle. Leaving Poole Quay at 19:00, enjoy an hour ashore and arrive back at 22:30.
