OnBuy is providing significant financial and commercial support to help grow the event and make 2019 even more successful than previous years. This is the second year in a row that OnBuy has been involved in supporting Teddy Rocks Festival, sponsoring in 2018 and 2019 and also working in close partnership with the organisers providing specialist commercial and design support from OnBuy’s in-house team.
Cas Paton, entrepreneur and founder of OnBuy, commented: “We’re incredibly proud to be partnering with the festival for the second time. Going beyond substantial financial support, we’re supporting the festival organisers with commercial advice to help drive revenue for the charity Teddy 20, as well as advising on strategy, design, logistics and marketing support.
“It was a few years ago that I first heard the tragic story of Ted and the Newton family’s suffering. Unfortunately, like most people, I have experienced the impact of cancer on family and friends, and felt compelled to support the charity and do everything within my power to help.
“Sadly, my story is similar to Tom’s, in as much as I lost my brother and I share the family’s pain and wanted to back the festival to raise more money than ever. I am inspired by the success of Teddy Rocks Festival and what has been achieved over the last 8 years is truly inspiring.”
Teddy Rocks Festival is organised by the Newton family, with all proceeds going towards the charity Teddy 20, which provides emotional and financial support to children and young people suffering and undergoing treatment for cancer. The charity was set up in memory of Ted Newton, who died at the age of 10 in 2010, from a rare form of bone cancer. Since the very first festival in 2011 in a restaurant in a pub in Blandford, the festival has helped raise more than £250,000 for the charity.
Tom Newton, founder of Teddy Rocks Festival, commented: “Cas has had a similar life experience to me and my family so shares our passion and ambitions to continue to grow the festival, and in turn, the amount of money we’re able to give to the charity and ultimately the families that really need it. We’re very grateful for OnBuy’s continued support.”
Teddy Rocks Festival takes place from Friday May 3 to Sunday May 5, at Charisworth Farm in Blandford Forum, Dorset and headliners include chart-toppers The Darkness and The Zutons. Visit https://teddyrocks.co.uk for more information about the event.
