Summer 2023 at Pavilion Dance South West

A dance season celebrating the Summer Solstice, Pride and Dancing outdoors on the Terraces!

Summer feels like it’s arrived here at Pavilion Dance South West, as we take to the sand to celebrate World Ocean Day on 8 June with a beach workshop led by our Artistic Director Victor Fung and welcome back James Wilton Dance to celebrate the Summer Solstice with their folklore inspired performance of LORE on 23 June.

Our popular Ceilidh series continues on 24 June with live music by Panjandrum and caller Nancy Potts to get you on the dancefloor.  And we’ve got something fun for the little ones too with Club Origami by Takeshi Matsumoto on 17 June with their immersive, interactive performance exploring the wonders of paper and play!

As Pride month begins we’re excited to co-present the vibrant dance circus cabaret GLAM by Etta Ermini Dance Theatre and Van Huynh Company at BourneFree Pride on 8 July in Meyrick Park, Bournemouth to celebrate diversity in its full feathered glory.

This summer our outdoor Dancing Terraces will be back with a full line-up of dance styles and music every Friday and Saturday in August including: Wheelchair Dance, Latin Fusion, Vintage Jazz, Bollywood, Hip Hop, Street Dance and African with live drumming.

As the sun shines (and even when it doesn’t!) we’ve got lots happening inside and outdoors for all the family to enjoy movement, dance & music this summer.

One of the driving forces behind what we do is our passion to make a difference to our communities through dance.  We aim to inspire the next generation of dance talent, from performers, to choreographers, creative directors and beyond with our diverse programme.  We are also passionate about improving lives by bringing dance to those communities that might find dance less easy to access or enjoy.
