A gorgeous wide sandy beach with a gradual slope into the sea.
Durley Chine beach is located on the west cliff and is accessed through the beautiful wooded Chine.
It is a popular location for families and is another of Bournemouth’s Blue Flag beaches.
The golden sand here is simply lovely and children and adults alike will enjoy spending the hot summer days here.
The water is clean, clear and calm and is perfect for all the family.
As with many beaches in the area it is lifeguard patrolled in the summer (between May and September) and also participates in Kidzone, a beach safety scheme.
Durley Chine beach has a number of beautiful beach huts for hire either on a daily or weekly period. The daily and weekly charges vary depending upon the time of year with “block” periods also available. Full pricing details can be found on the Bournemouth Council website and bookings can be made by telephoning 01202 451781. You may also find some beach hut tenants that rent out their beach huts directly.
Deck chairs can also be hired and there are a number of kiosks selling those necessary beach goodies and ice-creams!
Dogs are welcome all year round however between May and September they are only permitted on the beach area between groynes 5 and 7.
The land train makes a stop here on the way to Alum Chine or if walking is your preference then the promenade stretches for miles in both directions.
Beach wheelchairs can also be hired here for free, although a refundable deposit will be required.
Barbeques are permitted after 6pm. Disposable BBQ’s can be left beside the plastic bins along the promenade. Please ensure that you dowse hot coals first and take all rubbish with you. For BBQ’s of more that 30 people an application must first be submitted to the council.
There is a car park next to the beach with 131 spaces, however this tends to fill up very quickly on nice days! Nearby on road parking is also available.
