Home / Things To Do / Fisherman’s Walk Beach
Fisherman’s Walk beach is a wide sandy and golden beach perfect for families and a Blue Flag holder.
Another interesting attraction to this beach is the cliff lift which links the cliff top cafe and children’s area to the beach below.
Built in 1935, it is one of Bournemouth’s three cliff lifts (although one is currently out of action due to a landslide) and offers stunning views as well as a different way of getting to the beach!
As you would expect from a Bournemouth award winning beach, Fisherman’s Walk beach has lifeguard cover from May to September and a number of facilities.
The sea here is calm and inviting and the perfect way to cool off when the sun is shining.
The promenade continues along here although cycling is not permitted in July and August.
Fishermans Walk Beach has a number of beautiful beach huts for hire either on a daily or weekly period. The daily and weekly charge varies depending upon the time of year and they also offer “block” periods. Full pricing details can be found on the Bournemouth Tourism website and bookings can be made by telephoning 01202 451781. You may also find some beach hut tenants that rent out their beach huts directly.
There is a dedicated area of the beach for dog owners east of Fisherman’s walk and up to Southbourne Beach. Dogs are allowed on this stretch of beach all year round but please remember to clean up any mess they may leave!
Parking is available in the surrounding streets.
