Rockley Point Beach is a small and sandy little bit of beach near Hamworthy, having just 150 metres of beachfront, and often known as Rockley Sands beach.
The beach offers spectacular views of Poole harbour and the Purbecks.
Close by is Ham Common, or Hamworthy Common as it is sometimes referred to, a local nature reserve home to a variety of wildlife and nature.
The Haven Rockley Park Holiday Centre is located just up from the beach and has a wealth of facilities. Offering a wide selections of caravan and lodge accommodation. You will also be able to find a number of caravans and lodges to rent direct from owner.
Rockley Watersports is based at the beach and offers a wide selection of courses in various watersports including sailing and powerboating.
Rockley Boat Park is also based at the beach and offers a range of services for boat owners.
The shallow waters are excellent for paddling although swimming is not encouraged due to the strong currents. Water users should be aware that the tides here can be very strong and rip currents can occur. Children should be supervised closely at all times and inflatables are discouraged. Please note that the beach does not have lifeguard cover. It is forbidden to swim from the slipway at all times. Users should also be aware of mud flats in the area.
Dog owners will be pleased to know that dogs are welcome at Rockley Point beach all year round, just please ensure you clean up after your dog.
There is a small payable car park for approximately 30 cars which tends to get busy and is down a steep slope.
