The main service between Bournemouth and Poole is operated by South Western Railway and London can be reached in just 1 hour and 50 minutes from Bournemouth. The line also serves Southampton, Winchester and Basingstoke to the east and Wareham, Dorchester and Weymouth to the west.
Direct trains can also be taken to Oxford, Reading, Birmingham, Wolverhampton and Manchester with CrossCountry trains, and of course most of the UK can be reached by changing at other stations.
Getting between Bournemouth and Poole by train is easy with both Bournemouth railway station and Poole railway station being conveniently located near the town centre’s.
There are also stations at Branksome, Parkstone and Hamworthy in Poole, before reaching the stations at Holton Heath and Wareham. Heading in the other direction you will find Pokesdown station, which serves Boscombe, and further on Christchurch station.
The New Forest is just on our doorstep and after Christchurch the train line heads through the New Forest with stations at New Milton, Sway, Brockenhurst, Beaulieu and Ashurst before onto Southampton, handy for the airport and cruise ferries!

Bournemouth train station is also known as the Bournemouth Travel Interchange, the main hub for all trains, coaches and buses feeding into Bournemouth. The station is located approximately 1.2 miles from Bournemouth town centre, or roughly a 20 minute walk.
Of course if you don’t fancy walking then there is a taxi rank and of course with it being the travel interchange numerous buses stop here.

The M1 bus will take you into Bournemouth town centre and then goes onto Poole. Heading the other way it will take you to Charminster.

Poole train station is located just a 10 minute walk from the town centre and the bus station. Heading the other way Poole Quay is also just a 10 minute walk with the Poole ferry terminal being about a 20 minute walk. But if you don’t fancy walking the Route One bus stops outside the train station and will take you to the bus station and the quay.

The morebus buses will take you to Christchurch town centre and Bournemouth town centre however the stops for these are at Fairfield, just 5 minutes walk from the station.

Bus routes to Bournemouth town centre are the M2 from More buses. These buses will also take you to Boscombe bus station.

The station is conveniently located for the popular Westbourne area of Bournemouth which is about 1 mile away.
