What’s On at Bournemouth Air Festival 2018 – Day One Thursday

The 11th Bournemouth Air Festival takes to the skies today so what can you expect on day one?

The festival site opens at 10.00am and there is 1.5 miles of trading stands along the seafront between the Bournemouth and Boscombe piers. Here you will also find the Army Village and the Royal Navy Village where you can find out more about joining, check out their military weapons and vehicles and meet members of the services. HMS Diamond is moored in the bay and you can book an anchorage tour out to see her up close. At Pier Approach you will find the RAF Village which this year will feature a new static Typhoon and interactive virtual reality experience!

The action in the air is due to start at 2.30pm. Please note aircraft are subject to availability and weather conditions. Flying times may be subject to change. Royal Marines Demo: 2.00pm

The Royal Marines Unarmed Combat demonstration is set to take place at 2.00pm on the beach.

Bournemouth Gardens Entertainment: 6.00pm till 9.00pm

There will be family entertainment in the Lower Gardens from 6pm until 9.00pm including Incredible Faces Face Painting, Jamie Jambo, Liberty’s Centre Birds of Prey and Count Backwards. Plus do not miss the Royal Marines Unarmed Combat demonstration at 6.30pm, also in the lower gardens.

Live Music: 6.15pm till 10.00pm

There will be live music on the Bournemouth Stage from ‘McGoozer’ at 6.16pm followed by ‘The UK Bee Gees’ at 8.00pm.
