The 10th Bournemouth Air Festival takes to the skies today so what can you expect on day one?
The festival site opens at 10.00am and there is 1.5 miles of trading stands along the seafront between the Bournemouth and Boscombe piers. Here you will also find the Army Village, the Royal Navy Village and the Royal Marines Commando. At Pier Approach you will find the RAF Village which features a mock up of a full size Chinook plus the Red Arrows support team!
The action in the air starts from 3.15pm. Please note aircraft are subject to availability and weather conditions. Flying times may be subject to change. For an up to date flying timetable please purchase a souvenir programme which will allow you access to the online timetable which is updated throughout the event. New for 2017 is the Bournemouth Air Festival app which is free if you have purchased a programme. This app will also detail up to date flying timetables and can be activated with the code received with the programme. It is available on iOS and android. There will be family entertainment in the Lower Gardens from 6pm until 10.00pm including Liberty’s Bird Displays, face painting and Alice in Wonderland characters.
The HM RM Band Collingwood will be holding a performance at the Bandstand in the Lower Gardens from 8pm and on the Bournemouth Stage beside the pier the band ‘Rooster’ will be performing a range of your favourite party songs and cover tunes from 8.15pm.
At Immense Air – the World’s first Plane on the Beach Bar and Restaurant – there will be the Ed Sheeran Experience from 7pm. To purchase tickets please visit www.immenseair.com
Meanwhile at the Wave105 beach area there will be free entertainment and live music.
