Poole’s annual New Year’s Day Bath Tub Race is back for 2026
Back to see in 2026 is the slightly wacky event that is the Bath Tub Race on Poole Quay!
Poole Quay New Year’s Day Bath Race
Pop along to the quayside to cheer on the crazy crews as they take to their specially constructed bathtub vessels for this annual feel good race.
The race starts from the pontoons just east of Poole Bridge and finishes by the Fish Shambles steps just west of Poole Quay Boat Haven.
All participants must wear appropriate clothing and a suitable personal buoyancy aid.
Race Starts at 11:00 AM
Course: From the Pontoons east of Poole Bridge to the Fish Shambles steps just west of the Poole Quay Boat Haven.
Recommended launch point: Ferry Road between 10:00 AM – 10:45 AM for registration and safety checks.
Classic Cars on the Quay
Plus on New Year’s Day there will be a display of up to 100 classic vehicles of any nationality that must have been registered before the modern style registration number plates came into being in September 2001. The vehicles will be displayed from the Sea Music sculpture, where the Lower High Street joins the Quay, eastwards to the Poole Quay Hotel. Vehicles will be on display from 09:00 AM until 12:30 PM.
A fun day out for anyone, the annual Bath Race is an event that you can’t afford to miss!
The event is organised by Poole Harbour Commissioners and BCP Tourism.
