Beer and Bluegrass returns for its 5th birthday and this year there are no fewer than eight American and International Bluegrass and Americana acts on the lineup. The Festival is set in the secluded grounds of Victoria School with the main stage set within a natural amphitheater, surrounded by woodland and with the stunning ‘Claremont’ a Victorian convent in the background. It is ideally situated between the towns of Poole and Bournemouth and 2 minutes from Branksome Rail Station and Poole Road bus routes
Line-up includes Welsh wizards the Goat Roper Rodeo and the Mountain Firework Company with the Local Honeys from Kentucky and Rachel Harrington, Massey Ferguson, Resonant Rogues and JD Hobson all from the USA. The Bog Standard Stringband, from Ireland and supported by Gwenifer Raymond, Orange Circus, Death and The Dancer and Mishra from the UK
Many of these artists will join together on stage, singing and playing ‘Bluegrass Style’ around a single microphone to close each evening. The results are breathtakingly unique, adding a very special atmosphere to the Festival.
If the packed musical line up were not enough there is a Real Ale and Cider Festival, with handpicked selection of 72 of the very best of Real Ales and Ciders from the top craft brewers across the British Isles. If you are feeling hungry, there are homemade Burgers and Sausages from Wimborne Butcher, Keatings on Friday. Saturday sees the return of the Double Hog Roast from our Somerset Farmers and on both days there is home cooked Vegetarian Chilli.
