Dream Machines Bike Night ia a weekly event taking place on Tuesday nights between April & September. Bikers from all over the country come to show off their beautiful machines, meet up with fellow enthusiasts and compete for “Bike of the night”.
Poole Quay is closed off to all traffic and is taken over by a stream of shiny, gleaming, (and sometimes noisy!) bikes.
The event starts at 6pm and is one of the UK’s premier biking events.
Often attracting over 1000 bikers an evening, the event is fully marshalled and if you wish to bring along your own bike entry costs just £1.50 per person on the night. Alternatively you can also purchase a seasonal armband ticket in advance for just £8.00 which gives you admission for the entire 26 week season.
The event is free to spectators.
Armbands are available from the Tourist Information Centre in Poole Museum, the Lord Nelson and the Fish And Chips kiosk on Poole Quay.
This event really creates a wonderful atmosphere, the quay glistens away as the evening sun bounces off these sparkling machines with both bikers and spectators mingling and having fun.
The local pubs and restaurants offer a great selection of food and drink with many having “bike night” specials and there is often live music.
The winner of “Bike of the Night” will receive some bike related goodies and entry into ‘Bike of the Year’ which takes place on the final night of the season.
Even if you have never been interested in bikes before this event really is something else and you can’t help but appreciate the time, effort, care and dedication that these men and women put into their bikes and this event. Plus where else are you going to see rows and rows of gleaming motorbikes? It’s quite an impressive sight!
Dream Machines is a great evening out for everyone of all ages, why not pop along and see for yourself! The event takes place every Tuesday.
