Elf Dash will not take place in 2025.
A spokesperson said: “Elf Dash isn’t taking place this year. Elf Dash has been a firm staple in our annual charity calendar of much-loved events. However, after careful consideration, this event will not be taking place this year (December 2025). We are aware that this time of year can be particularly expensive, and we will be focusing our energy on raising funds for our Christmas Appeal, to provide a gift for every patient who cannot be home for Christmas. This will begin at the start of November.
As your hospital’s charity, we are conscious that we will already be asking our friends and family and charity supporters for this kind Christmas donation. We also have some exciting fundraising initiatives to come in the New Year where we will be calling on everybody across Dorset to continue to support us with raising invaluable funds that go beyond NHS funding to enhance hospital care. With this in mind, we are keen to ensure we use every penny wisely and save every charitable ask for the things that can make the biggest difference to our staff, hospitals and our patients.”

Get ready to lace up your trainers and embrace the festive spirit at Elf Dash on Sunday 8 December 2024!
Dash 2km along the gorgeous Branksome seafront to raise funds for additional technology – above and beyond NHS funding – in the new classroom of the BEACH Building’s Children’s Unit at University Hospitals Dorset.
After running like Rudolph, step into Santa’s magical grotto to meet the jolly man himself and celebrate your achievement with some festive cheer.
Every step you take and every pound raised helps fund an interactive whiteboard, laptops, height-adjustable tables and iPads for the upcoming classroom at The Royal Bournemouth Hospital, giving children access to education during treatment.
We kindly ask you to raise £75 in sponsorship to help fund these extra items, improving accessibility and continuity of education for all our young patients.
