The Dolphin Centre in Poole is holding a specially curated street party on Bank Holiday Thursday, alongside a host of celebrations to mark the Queen’s Jubilee.
On Thursday, June 2 from 2pm to 6.30pm, Kingland Crescent will be transformed into ‘Queenland’ in honour of the Platinum Jubilee.
Mobile disco providers, The Hush Club will be serving up entertainment in the form of street party vibes, with soft drinks, beer, and cocktails on sale from its sequinned DJ booth.
A number of retailers in ‘Queenland’ Crescent will also be extending their opening hours to continue the street party into the evening.
To celebrate in true British style, there will be street party merchandise available to use and enjoy, including Queen masks, to create memorable photo opportunities. Quintessentially English ‘afternoon teas in a box’ will also be available to buy and enjoy.
During the Jubilee week (30th May – 5th June), the centre will be running a celebratory ‘Jubilee Journey’ trail, where visitors can hunt down seven boards dedicated to each decade of the Queen’s reign. The Jubilee Journey boards will be dotted throughout the centre, and visitors who correctly answer and submit the quiz answers will be entered into a draw to win a trip for two to view the Superbloom at the Tower of London, with an overnight hotel stay.
John Grinnell, Centre Manager at The Dolphin Centre, said: “We are looking forward to celebrating this memorable occasion with our visitors. There will be something for all ages to enjoy at the Dolphin Centre across the week to mark the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, and we expect it to be a hit.
“The bank holiday celebrations provide a unique opportunity for the local community to come together and enjoy the centre’s festivities surrounding this remarkable historic milestone.”
