Castlepoint Shopping Centre funds healthy eating projects in the local community with ‘Something A Bit Special’ Fine Food Market.
Castlepoint are bringing something a little bit special to the centre biweekly as of the 29th June, with local traders showcasing in a fine foods market named ‘Something a bit special’ that will be sure to send taste buds into a frenzy.
The exclusive market will not only be offering a variety of unique food options to try on the go but the fun family friendly event will also play host to live music, food demos from main retailers like M&S which will also showcase their very best picks of wines, organic and vegan products along with what’s special and new in store.
Community is at the very heart of this project by not only allowing small traders a platform to help pursue their dreams, but the proceeds are to finance educational programs for the local community and schools.
Contributions from the traders will be funding a 3-part FREE COURSE for 20 people “Eating & Cooking Healthily for the Whole Family” with award winning nutritionist Barbara Cox.
Additionally, the market will be supporting The Children’s Health Project. The program provides the school with a wellbeing curriculum for all Primary years integrated with Ofsted Health Curriculum. Resources, teachers support, management and implantation support, face to face development are all included in the project to ensure full embedding and a lasting legacy in school over 3 years.
‘Ensuring the wellbeing of all of young people in the UK has to be a top priority for our country. It is therefore essential that we provide our schools, teachers and families with the tools and training necessary to enable this to happen. This exciting collaboration between The Children’s Health Project and Castlepoint will be an important step in achieving this.’ (The Children Health Project)
Starting from Saturday the 29th of June and from then on taking place every other Saturday.
