Have you ever seen a sheep being shorn in real life?
Why should we shear sheep? Shearing is really important so sheep don’t overheat in the summer. A long fleece reduces mobility, and tends to become dirty and drag along the ground. Fly strike is really horrible and the Farmer Palmers team are on constant watch until the shearing is completed.
One school actually put sheep shearing on the KS2 syllabus, fab idea!
Farmer Palmers are very lucky to have local shearer Chris coming in to take those heavy wool fleeces off of our beautiful sheep. No extra charge to watch them have a haircut! Just arrange to visit them and let your little VIP’s see farming at work.
